"Hattie McDaniel’s great-grandnephew, actor/producer Kevin John Goff, is currently working on a book about Ms. McDaniel. The book, Hattie McDaniel: A Reflective Life, will be released in the 1st Quarter of 2024. The book will share photos of Ms. McDaniel and other relatives in their life away from Hollywood as well as some of her quotes and other surprising information.
Mr. Goff shows us that Hattie was much more than the characters she played throughout the 1930’s to the early 1950’s.

Bailando con la Vida
"Debra has visited San Miguel de Allende a number of times to visit her mother, who has lived here for 15+ years. With each visit she felt more magnetized to this town and made the big move less than 3 months ago. She is very excited and grateful to be exhibiting her works at Galeria Blue Moon. She would love to see, meet and perhaps even dance with you at her opening on Friday, June 2 between 5-8 pm!"

A Whimsical Motion
"One Grove Gallery is pleased to showcase a Chicago artist, Debra Deutsch Oliver. Her work focuses on portraiture in motion. She sees the canvas as a stage of everyday life, where any ordinary task can become a dance, a moment of transformation. She uses a mix of expressive movements and spontaneous action often involving props that make up our everyday lives. Many of her paintings have visual puns, subtle humor and references to nostalgic pop culture."
Dates: March 1 - July 1, 2023

Pictures of People
"This painting is part of a series entitled 'Eternal Laundry.' Jennifer, my sister is the protagonist in this piece. To me eternal laundry is a metaphor for for making a conscious choice to shift the idea of chores, mundane activities and even negative thought patterns into a positive, empowering and possibly ecstatic experience (no static ‘Cling Free’…yes, even fitted sheets). Just like laundry, it is an on-going effort to get to this place. In the meantime, I would like to thank my sister for helping me put a dent in my eternal laundry."
